August
14th - Evening Mass at Blessed Sacrament, meet at Blessed Sacrament @ 7:00 pm.
On Saturday July 9, 10 people from Erie went down to Titusville on a mission: to worship and adore, learn and discover, serve and love. Our photographer, adult chaperon Elizabeth Gil was able to capture some of the fun with a digital camera. We arrived at St. Titus, part of the Catholic Community of Titusville (including St. Walburga and Immaculate Conception) to be greeted by Fr. D.G. Davis' dog Noah, a golden lab. Fr. Davis and the people of St. Titus were extremely gracious hosts, providing us with doughnuts as we prepared for the day.
The day began with morning prayer from the liturgy of the hours led by Fr. Davis who explained the significance of this ancient practice. We then participated in a reflection, again led by Fr. Davis, on the theme of sacrifice of the Mass; many questions were asked, brains were attuned to the beauty and mystery of Christ's love. We made special "care packages" dropped from planes in oppressed countries. The packages included a solar radio, a Bible in the native language of the oppressed ones, and messages in their language which would encourage their journeys.

It was as if something of our concern and solidarity would be with the persons who would find encouragement in the midst of danger and oppression. Please join us in prayer for all who are oppressed. We went to Drake's Well and learned some American history (so close to home) Fr. Davis had lunch waiting for us.
We were filled with surprise when Fr. Jonathan Schmolt arrived to give us moral support and encouragement. After lunch we spent time at Golden living Center with seniors playing bingo. That was the highlight for me, because it was obvious that something as simple as a smile can broaden our relationships and understanding.
When we came back to St. Titus we prepared for Mass. At the end of Mass the youth of St. George presented a check to the people of Titusville in the amount of $600 to be used for the edification of persons in need in the area. It was a high time, because when we give we receive. Thank you to all who made that donation possible!
We ended our day with Evening Vespers, a picnic and campfire outside of town in a little place called Hallowfield. It was peaceful.
The youth below represented well the St. George and Erie youth
Julia Lorei, Mary Therese Nelson, Rebecca Rose, Kacey Mulvin, Maxwell Kerr, Joe Bozich, Elias Kerr. In Sacred Scripture, 7 is the number of wholeness. These 7 youth shared the Gospel fully, even as it was presented to them, that is a day of wholeness and fullness in the best sense.
